Actually we are the only big GNU/Linux distribution without bootsplash support. We can try to introduce it in debian?
Some possible solution
1. Patch and user tools (www.bootsplash.org) or (www.bootsplash.de)
2. Via userland tools only (like fedore)
3. The Debian Way (some idea?)
