Would you volunteer to learn the ropes of being a buildd admin?
Since the teacher doesn't have to know the arch any buildd admin can
teach you how so Ryan not having time to teach someone is not an
issue.
Having just one buildd admin for an arch creates a single point of
failure. And it has failed over and over intermittently in the past
(lack of time). More are needed.

PS: Or give someone else access to the system to be the buildd admin?
