That is just to add the ability to use 64bit software. Full amd64
support (as pure64 has it) means recompiling all packages for 64bit.

For sarge+1 we have multiarch planed and the full amd64
repository. That goes way beyond this rudimentary support.

When sarge comes out there will be _NO_ amd64 support. Only because
amd64 has an i386 mode does debian run at all.
These few packages would be needed to at least add some support
without having an amd64 port.
