Why doesn't the version match between the i386 and sparc
arch?

SPARC have version 2.95.4-7 and i386 have 2.95.4-11woody1...

did you checked the buildd logs? maybe there is going something wrong
during the build process ( i dont know, i havnt got the time to look on
it)
