Author Configuring X to load only minimal modules

Hi,

I'm trying to use X on a very low resources machine, and I saw that many
modules were loaded even if it is not configured to do so, like
XINERAMA. How can I disable them?

This is more of a question for debian-user, but...

You can use use "dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86" to cut down on the
module list. The debconf question about modules gives a brief description
of what each module does; from there you should be able to decide whether
you consider it essential functionality for your environment or not.

Someday, though, we may have TinyX packaged, and that would probably be a
superior solution. The XFree86 X server has not evolved in a
resource-conserving direction over the years.

hmmm... not exactly... (see below)

The problem is: I have all modules commented on the config file, and it
stills load several modules, like XINERAMA. Maybe it's necessary to
rebuild X disabling this modules...

Yes, that would work... but I couldn't find anything but a libc5
version, which is not very usefull to me...
