BTW, such errors also show up in debconf templates (from memory).

But, there, *please* do NOT file bug reports for debconf templates as
this will trigger all maintainers to update their templates and then
fuzzy out all translations which will certainly make us, translators,
mad.


IMHO, your bug report should suggest package maintainers to have their
package descriptions reviewed by debian-l10n-english which is way not
enough used for proofreview of English.

The next release (etch?) should focus on this "bad" English use and
probably also try to have a more consistent way to write user
interaction stuff such as Debconf templates.

The DTSG (Debconf Templates Style Guide) is an attempt for this_:
