How many font packages are still to come? I think a small collection of
high quality fonts is enough to have.
I have installed a huge number of more or less freely available TrueType
fonts which I hope never will be part of the Debian archives.
$ ls -l .fonts | wc -l
7660

How many editor packages are still to come? I think vim and emacs
ought to be enough.

Do we have any high quality fonts in Debian?

i disagree, both the number of fonts available, the fonts themselves and
the font management in debian is far away from the standard other OSes
set. for me personally, and probably for the most people on the list,
fonts are not a problem, but if we want our OS to be used for publishing
and things like that too, we need to do better...

I have around 36.000
:-)
OK, around 20.000 non-free but...
But in the next month I will make all fonts in groups to Debian-
Packages and they will be availlable from my apt repository.
No wory about it... I will not flood Debian with 160 xfonts-*
Packages.
Oh yes, does anyone know a fontcreator for the console-fonts ?

$ apt-cache search console font
cfe - Console Font Editor
fonter - Interactive font editor for the console
etc.
