Author (forw) Reject messages from the anonymous upload queue

May someone help me in understanding this:

Rejected: md5sum for /org/ftp.debian.org/ftp/pool/main/g/geneweb/geneweb_4.09+cvs20040827.orig.tar.gz doesn't match geneweb_4.09+cvs20040827-2.dsc.
Rejected: size for /org/ftp.debian.org/ftp/pool/main/g/geneweb/geneweb_4.09+cvs20040827.orig.tar.gz doesn't match geneweb_4.09+cvs20040827-2.dsc.
Rejected: 'dpkg-source -x' failed for geneweb_4.09+cvs20040827-2.dsc [return code: 65280].
[dpkg-source output:] dpkg-source: error: file geneweb_4.09+cvs20040827.orig.tar.gz has size 1011672 instead of expected 1000073

Indeed, the gengeneweb_4.09+cvs20040827.orig.tareweb_4.09+cvs20040827.orig.tar file I sent in this
upload *was* 1000073bytes and had the correct checksum.

This happened me 4 successive times (as I thought I was doing
something wrong..:-))). This is by far not the first time I use the
anon upload queue, so I don't really understand what happens there....

The .dsc file is of course properly signed as well as the .changes
file....and no other files are missing....:-)

The .orig.tar.gz on your system no longer matches the version of this
file that's already in the archive. katie is rightly rejecting this
upload, as the binaries would not match the source in the archive, and
a new tar.gz cannot be uploaded without a change in the upstream version
number.

You are uploading a 2.nd debian revision (-2). Assuming you previously
uploaded a -1 your upload should (and does or you get a different
error) only contain the diff.gz and dsc but not the orig.tar.gz. Now
it also seems that your orig.tar.gz at home differs from the
orig.tar.gz in the debian archive. That is not allowed. If you have to
change the orig.tar.gz you have to bump the upstream version.

Thanks, Goswin and Steve for your correct analysis.
