It's going to be a kernel thing more than a Debian specific driver issue. If
the kernels that Debian ship support it, it'll work.
Have a look (use modinfo) at /lib/modules/`uname -r`/kernel/drivers/usb

Sorry, not familiar with this software (and when I hear GSM I think "Global
System for Mobiles" not something to do with pictures...

Many modern GSM phones have builtin cameras. Their quality isn't really
great, but who cares? It's fun and trendy to have a
cellphone-and-kitchensink.
Of course, you want to do something with those pictures. Sending them by
MMS is one option, but that's going to cost you. Alternatively, you
could download them to your PC -- if you have the software...

Cellphones around here (i.e. Japan) have now 2 Mpixels cameras and SD
card slots. So, you just need an SD card reader on your PC...

Alas the phones that you don't have to take out a home equity loan to
purchase around here (i.e. US) don't yet (we're so behind). I just got
a motorola v220 over the weekend and realized after I got it home that
it had a USB connector. The cdc-acm module has it show up as a USB
modem (minicom connects to it just great), and gnokii in its AT-mode
will pull basic information about the model, IMEI, and phonebook entries
from the SIM card.
Unfortunately what I want to be able to do is something similar to the
original poster - duplicate a piece of the functionality of the Windows
software motorola provides (mobile Phone Tools) to allow me to move midi
files and pictures off / on it. I only have to somehow figure out how
the Windows software is doing it (snoopypro hasn't been much help, since
the software refuses to work if it is snooping). If anyone has
suggestions on that front, I'd be very glad to hear them

| I look for support for my quiestion on www.samsung.com. Look for
previously asked question ... but nothing with "Linux" there!
Then I found form for quiestion, but there wasn't my phone (SGH-X600)
so i found only one e-mail of entertaiment section of samsung and
wrote a mail. I asked her to help me - take me a right mail or forward
my mail to right place. Sorry that I post that in list ... I hope some
"GURU" to began some project for that. But you man have other work to
do. I'm sorry, again, for posting my problems here before I've got
answer from samsung.
Regards
