You are referring to his email regarding problems with getting updates
kernel images for all architectures?

I agree that's a point.
But this problem is already being attacked by the kernel team.

There are also other areas where work on the installer might be easier
if fewer architectures were supported, but are they heavy enough for
dropping two thirds of the Debian architectures - or are they issues
where improvements were possible?
