I just built and installed a Win 2003 Web Edition server

I have about 12 FPSE sites on a Win 2K server that I need to move to the new
server. (The my profile does not meet the
requirements of the migration tool, so I decided to 'Publish' the sites from
the existing server to the new one.

I created the physical root directories for each virtual server and created
and extended the virtual servers.
Of the 12 sites only one has successfully published. The others receive one
 of two different errors.

"You are not authorized to perform the current operation"
or
An error occurred accessing your SharePoint Services Site. Authors if author
ing against a web server please contact the webmaster
for this web servers site. Webmasters please see the servers system log for
more details.
(Same error for same site on repeated attempts.)

The server is a member of the domain.
I have extended each virtual server and used the domain administrator passwo
rd as the Administrator role.

FrontPage solicits me for credentials and then starts to work. It fails aft
er some number of files and it SEEMS to be consistent
for each site as to what file it fails on. However, if I do a single file p
ublish of the failing file, it works. Unfortunately,
this type of operation does not get the navigation and other information upd
ated.

FrontPage is 2003 with current service pack and hot fixes from Office Update
FPSE are from the Win 2003 Server CD (5.0.2.5012)
Server does NOT have SP1 installed. But has all other downloads from Window
s Update except for DirectX 9.0c. It also has Windows
SharePoint Services 2.0 SP1 installed.

Thanks

Well, :Duh, Yes I have, thank you.
And of course there is nothing in the logs.

Please attempt to be helpful next time instead of wasting my time and yours.

If you'll note your original post, you will notice that you didn't say
whether you had or not. Had you indicated whether or not you had, THAT
would have been a good step at preventing wasted time.

It just so happens that I am in a unique position to help you with this
problem, but I must say that I am not inclined to do so after your
discourteous and offensive response.

I do not wish to start a flame war on this, but you should give the people w
ho post credit for little intelligence. Granted I did
not indicate that I had looked, but you might also suspect that I would not
have posted a question, if there had been any useful
information or any information gleaned would have been in the post.

And since you claim to know how to fix this, you would already know that the
re is no information in the logs.

Help me if you wish or not. It is up to you.

In fact, most people who post with the error you are seeing do NOT check the
event viewer. When we ask them to, they are surprised to get useful
information.

It pays to be courteous, but as you say, it's up to you.
