Hello All,
More/Differnt issues wither direct mail.

We've made some changes to a CS2K installation and are now having
peoblems with the DirectMail service.

Initially, everything (IIS/SQL/DirectMail) was installed on Computer
A.

Recently, we moved the SQL server tom computer B.

We've updated all the connection strings and all the "Test Connection"
buttons report no errors.

We've moved the direct mail service to Computer B. However, our direct
mail service no longer runs.

All the CS2K docs only address single-computer setups. However, they
do mention that the direct mailer service needs to be on the same
server as the DirectMailer DB.

So, is moving the DirectMailer service to Computer B the proper thing
to do?

Should we have left the service running on Computer A (since the IIS
machine will actually be performing the mailing of the messages?)

Any good references to docs? (I'm currentl going through the MS site).

TIA,
-tomas

Hi Tomas,

If you're working with Commerce Server 2000 then there is a known issue with
having Commerce Server Direct Mailer and SQL Server on the same machine. It
has something to do with SQL Server Agent & Commerce Server Direct Mailer
interaction.

Anyways check up if the SQL Server Agent services are started automatically
(even though the install of SQL Server promises to set it up, the services
don't start automatically). Use the SQL Service Manager to make them
"Automatic".

Hope this helps.

We've opened a ticket with MS on this one. I'll post the resolution
(when/if found).
