root:
Jan 28 20:20:00 localhost sendmail[1971]: i0SCK0jl001971: from=root,
size=249, class=0, nrcpts=1,
msgid=<200401281220.i0SCK0jl001971@localhost.localdomain>,

Good question. The line above is just a normal log entry. Where should
be the problem? Look out for *error* messages in /var/log/maillog or at
the console output.

Does the sendmail daemon run? ->
netstat -alpen | grep sendmail
Do you have a valid submit.cf?

I just found the problem is caused by the /etc/hosts.allow. I added
sendmail: localhost: allow in /etc/hosts.allow, it works now.
thanks

hello,
thanks in advance, I am also having the same problem of 'DSN: Service unava
ilable' but it only happens when I send the email to a specific email server
, smtp server. When sending to some other email accounts, it works fine. How
ever, i.e. when I send to a hotmail email account, its status is not sent bu
t 'Queued mail for delivery', and sometimes it is received in the hotmail to
: account and sometimes not.
Would you have a suggestion ?
Thanks,
Ignacio
