find it at .............. unfortunately that link doesnt work.  Where do I
get this kit and what is this message telling me

If you are setting up on a disc-based web (opened using a filing
system path like C:\path\to\webname) then ignore the error.  The
message will clear when the web is http published to a server running
the FrontPage extensions.

I am doing the site on a http server itself so i cannot bypass this message.
I am working from wwwroot so it is server based hmmmm any answers

If you are working from wwwroot, you are (probably) using a disc-based
web.  wwwroot is a file specification, not a URI.
A URI (in this context) starts with http://

If you are working on the server itself (not from a remote PC) then
use http://localhost to open the web.
If you have been working as if disc-based, you may have to re-install
the extensions to get them back to a server configuration.  At least
run server-health from the extensions administration.

how do i re-install the extensions, and where would I find the extensions
administration utility so I can run server health. I know this is a stupid
question but could you help me I cannot locat the utility in IIS admin, wher

In Windows XP Pro and Windows 2003, it is
Control Panel->Administration Tools->Microsoft SharePoint
Administration
Find your website in the list (possibly Default Web Site which is
located in wwwroot) and click administration.
From here you can reinstall the extensions, (Upgrade virtual server),
or use
Go to Site administration for  websitename, then Check server health.

Im using Windows 2000 server and when i look in admin tools there is no MS
Sharepoint. Also the server extensions administrator tool is empty now what
do i do????

The instructions I gave were for 2002 extensions.
For FP2000 extensions, open Internet Information Service from
Control Panel->Administration Tools
Open the "folder" tree and right click on the website
Choose All Tasks->Check Server Extensions

If that option is not there then the extensions must be installed from
the
Windows 2000 CD,  or 2002 extensions downloaded and installed from
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/d... />
