We need some clrification. First you say you want to run
2 aspx pages and be able to shut one down. The you start
talking about sites? Which is it? Do you want to stop one
aspx page from executing or do you want to stop one
website?

one computer and still have the possibility to shut only one down and let the other running? If you push stop IIS, then both sites stop working...how can you make it that one is still running and the other shuts down?

If you do in fact have 2 distinct websites, then just
right click that website in Internet Services Manager and
click Stop. That will stop that one website and leave the
other website running.

In the IIS I see only the Default Web Site. I can only stop this...do you kn
ow how i can make more than just the "Default Web Site"?
The Default Web Site is no problem to stop, but then both of my Websites get
stoped because they are both in the Default Web Site...

Let's get things straight. If you only have a default
website...then you only have one website. You do not have
2. I think you are getting a website and a virtual
directory mixed up. Anyway, right click on the website
and choose new website. Although if you are using Windows
2000 Pro or XP Pro, then you can only have one website.

Not exactly... You have only one site. And probably are running XP Pro. In which case, you can't shut down one ASPX and leave the other running, you need a server operating system and two separate sites to do this. Each instance of IIS an only be stopped in its entirety, not selective parts. Jeff

In the IIS control panel, right click the *server* (not the default web site) and choose New -> Web Site. Each web *site* can be stopped and started at will. Subwebs and virtual roots are dependent on the site they are under. Jeff
