I am using Oracle 9.2.0.1 on IBM AIX 5.1L System.

I am wondering if there is any latest version (like 9.2.0.2 or
9.2.0.3) released by Oracle ...and if so what are the steps to upgrade
to this new version....?

Any related information on this is appreciated.

THANKS!

The 9.2.0.4 patchset should be out. You will need to access Metalink to download the patchset. When you download the patchset, you will also get the instructions you need to install it. 9.2.0.4 has been out for a long time. There are rumors of a 9.2.0.5 coming too. -- Daniel Morgan http://www.outreach.washington.edu/...oad/oad_crs.asp http://www.outreach.washington.edu/...aoa/aoa_crs.asp damorgan@x.washington.edu (replace 'x' with a 'u' to reply)

More than a rumour hopefully - we've been promised that some bugs we're hitting are fixed in 9.2.0.5. -- Andy Hassall <andy@andyh.co.uk> / Space: disk usage analysis tool <http://www.andyh.co.uk> / <http://www.andyhsoftware.co.uk/space>

Metalink is not always internally consistent on this subject. However, if you can find the download, there is usually a readme available there so you don't have to download to read it. The downloads are usually on otn.oracle.com. Click download --> Oracle 9i database --> Look for your platform. If you don't see it, harass OTN. Check download daily. Check out http://metalink.oracle.com/metalink...T&p_id=245758.1 , it shows bugs fixed on AIX for 9.2.0.4. Check out the metalink compatibility matrix, it shows 9.2.0.4 as certified. Then click on patches on metalink and flounder about until you find your platform: [I was going to paste a link to it here, until I noticed it put my email and userid in the link!] This might work: http://updates.oracle.com/ARULink/P...=212&language=0 Stupid Java code on quick links database link truncates hover drop-down depending on where the browser window is scrolled to. LOL! jg -- @home.com is bogus. Well, Howdy Doody! Clarabell kicks the bucket: http://www.tvland.com/obits/kangaroo/

opinion ...

I wish that they'd issue an 8.1.7.5.x with all of the security alerts
rolled into it, plus large memory support for win32, cursor_sharing
bugs fixed.
They pushed back de-support for a year, they should have also merged
all of the .6 -.12 patchsets into a real one.

I know about several bugs that got a patch for 9.2.0.4. So maybe these ones will be merged (together with others still unknown) to 9.2.0.5 patchset. Is true that even in 9.2.0.4 there are few stupid bugs included in. -- Dusan Bolek

If doing RAC ... there are quite a few things 9.2.0.4 doesn't do ... not just well ... at all. A 9.2.0.5 install set that actually handles secondary nodes properly is highly desirable. So would finding the person that signed off on the 9.2.0.1 to 9.2.0.4 CD set releases and claimed they had tested RAC installation. I'd personally llike to help them to say: "Do you want fries with that." There is no excuse for it ever getting out of QA unless someone was faking the testing or performing the testing on machines still dirty from previous installations. -- Daniel Morgan http://www.outreach.washington.edu/...oad/oad_crs.asp http://www.outreach.washington.edu/...aoa/aoa_crs.asp damorgan@x.washington.edu (replace 'x' with a 'u' to reply)
