for Process Improvement in Small Settings
October 18-20, 2005
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Web: http://www.sei.cmu.edu/iprc/

**** All inquiries to customer-relations@sei.cmu.edu ****

The first International Research Workshop for Process Improvement
in Small Settings workshop, sponsored by the International Process
Research Consortium, will focus on research from the world-wide
community, addressing the unique issues of process improvement in
small settings, including small projects, small teams, small
organizations, and small businesses.

Papers will be carefully evaluated based on originality, technical
soundness, significance, and clarity of thought. Please email your
position paper to the workshop committee (irw-small@sei.cmu.edu)
no later than June 16, 2005. The complete Call for Position Papers
is available on the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) Web site at
http://www.sei.cmu.edu/iprc/ir-workshop.html

The SEI Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) in Small Settings
Project was formed in early 2005 to provide approaches, tools, techniques,
and guidance for those applying CMMI in a small setting. For this
project, a small setting is defined as an organization or company of
fewer than approximately 100 people, and a project of fewer than
approximately 20 people.

The CMMI in Small Settings Web pages contain a description of this
project, a Call for Interest form, a link to toolkit elements used
in SEI pilots on adopting CMMI in small settings, and information
about the International Research Workshop for Process Improvement
in Small Settings. For further information about the CMMI in Small
Settings Project, see
http://www.sei.cmu.edu/cmmi/adoption/cmmismall.html
