Hey Charles;

Yea, I'm here in *debian as a Ubuntu user too. Really, the best place
to start is http://www.ubuntulinux.org/. Check the wiki, forums, etc.
Personally, I wish they'd do less forum'ing and more newsgrouping but...

hth,

Sparky

There doesn't seem to be an English language group for discussion of
Ubuntu specifically.

alt.fr.os.ubuntu (French)
alt.pl.comp.os.linux.ubuntu (Polish)
gmane.linux.ubuntu.announce (Moderated)
gmane.linux.ubuntu.devel.kernel.bugs
gmane.linux.ubuntu.sounder (Moderated)
gmane.linux.ubuntu.user.german (Moderated)

However, derivatives of Debian are on-topic here according to the
charter, though this is unfortunately not clear from the newsgroup
name and description.

If you want a group specifically for Ubuntu, there's no reason why you
shouldn't create one, of course.

There is a Ubuntu newsgroup, but it had a bunch of junk on it that
filled up my newsreader with strange content that I decided I was safer
using the Ubuntu forums. The Ubuntu forums accessible from the Ubuntu
web site are quite numerous; I would stick with those if I was you.
Though since Ubuntu is a debian destribution, this newsgroup is probably
good enough for most questions unless it is strictly a Ubuntu question.

Kill binaries in non binary groups and you would not have seen that
'junk' some idiot posted yenc binaries of some ubuntu books. While the
Forums are very good, there is no reason to avoid the Ubuntu newsgroup.
