My university is reluctant to allow FrontPage Extensions to be installed on
an Apache server. This would allow me and others to use a bunch of
user-friendly FrontPage features, but the techs cite 'security' as their
major objection.

Like many academics I'm a computer novice, and chose FrontPage because I
can't handle too much tech language. So where can I find a summary of PLAIN
ENGLISH arguments which I could use to discuss a change of heart among my
UNIX-focused computer services people?

Generally speaking, IT people who use the excuse "security" regarding FP
server extensions do so because of lack of knowledge, or not wanting to
learn how to properly secure them.
