Hello,

We are going to have WAS 5.1 with IHS 2.0.47.1
I am in a process of installing those on Linux machine (intel machine runnin
g suse 8.1 with service pack 2) and have a few questions regarding that.

Is it absolutely required that I install IHS before I install WAS?

After I install IHS, it does not get started automatically on Linux box as a
deomon. How can I configure that? Currently I can go into <IHSroot>/bin and
start it by issueing 'apachectl -k start' command from command line.

WAS installation guidelines recommend I remove java2-jre-1.3.1-524 and java2
-1.3.1-524 rpms : is this also required? what are these and where are they t
ypically located?

Thanks,
testweb

IHS has to be there first so the WAS install can put the plugin module
lines in the httpd.conf.

In article <d8b63o$4h4k$1@news.boulder.ibm.com>, raymmailbox-news@yahoo.com says...

You can install it later and then install the plugin module (but obviously,
you
need IHS before the plugin).
