I am trying to import the mailing list for the email campaign.

I go to Campaigns > List Manager > Import list
then i select static, and enter the information below:
name of list to copy: emaillist
list source: from file
File name: c:\mailinglist.csv

Upon clicking ok, i receive an error: 0x8c40015, c:\mailinglist.csv is not
found. But i am certain the the c:\mailinglist.csv is there.

I also tried using the filname: http://www.***(our
domain).com/mailinglist.csv since i have also uploaded the file. I then
receive the error 0x8c40016, server and file not found.

What should i do? what caused the problem?

Hi Pinay,

Can you confirm if the directory where you've uploaded the mailing list has
read/write permissions for the BizDesk User & the SQL Server Agent service
account ?

Hi Ravi Shankar:

Upon further troubleshooting the system, i have just realized that when i
type the path c:\mailinglist.csv, it is actually reading the servers local c
:
drive not my c: drive which is just a client. Other than mapping the drive,
or my desktop for that matter, is there another way to do it? By that i mean
is there a way that the business desk will recognize my hard drive since the
file is located there. This is for the reason that our server is not wholly
controlled by us. We are paying a company to maintain this server. Thus, we
do not have full access to it. I have tried researching and it seems that
there is no way to work around this. But i might as well give it a try by
posting a question here. Hope to here some suggestions. Bottomline is, i
would like to add an email list through the list manager by importing the
file from my computer.

Unfortunately the Business Desk doesn't support this.  You could extend it
to use WebDAV or similar mechanism to first transfer the file to the server
and then import.  E.g. Catalog Import works this way.

Another option would be to create a process to load your list into SQL
server and then use the ListManager's CreateFromSQL method to turn it into
a mail list.

CS2006 will support upload/import directly from the client.
