Login required when clicking "Edit" in Console |

Hi all,
The user is an admin. The login is only prompted when few peoples are
accessing the site at the same time. Eventually, the login will fail with
"You are not authorized to view this page" error, even though the correct
credential in entered.

Hi Lam,
sounds as if the MCMS server machine has problems to contact the domain
controller.
Does this also happen with local accounts?
Cheers,
Stefan

you can turn on autiding for failed logon events on the MCMS box, and use
that information to trace the problem, which will be much more helpful than
the error you receive in the browser

I have 2 sites in the CMS server. One is read only with anonymous access
enabled in IIS. The other one is read/write whith no anonymous access
enabled in IIS, just integrated security. Then when I try to access the edi
t
site (read/write), it request me an AD user and password, if the credentials
are correct, I enter the site and edit content. But sudendly I loss the
console with no reason and I can just to bowse the site, no error display,
only the console disappear. Sometimes appear a form login request me a
credetials again. Why? This is related with the problem to access de DC

Hi Norys,
if anonymous access is disabled then IIS will enforce authentication for
every request. There is no method to prevent this.
If the console still disappears it would be interesting to know if guest
access is enabled - the fact that you have a read-only site on the same
server with anonymous access enabled seems to indicate this.
If the console disappears in this situation where IIS enforces
authentication but the authenticated user is not used for authorization the
only reason I can think of would be that the domain controller cannot be
contacted.
So yes: II would say this is related to your DC problem.
Cheers,
Stefan

This problem occurs the most of the times when I create a posting in a Empty
channel after (immediately) I aprobe a posting... then appear a CMS page
(with the channels and CMS logo) with no console. I try several times and
the behaivor is the same... after I aprobe a posting and go to a empty
channel I lost the console in this channel (and in the other empty channels)
,
in the rest of channels that have posting the console remain. why? how I
fix it?

Hi Norys,
I have never heard about such a problem so I cannot provide a solution.
Empty channels are not served from ASP.NET but from ASP (as the cover page
is an ASP page) but if anonymous access is disabled in IIS this should not
make a difference.
I would suggest to open a support case with Microsoft.
Cheers,
Stefan

Hi Nory,
that should not vanish. Are you using a custom console action?
If not: please open a support case for this.
Cheers,
Stefan

I'm not using custom console action. This problem occurs when I approve,
submit or decline a posting using default console
