Greetings All From Iraq!

I need to set up a CCM with dual NICs and wanted to get everyone's input
on the best practices for doing so. I am also sifting through Cisco's
site but nothing (so far) seems to bear upon using dual NICs.

Best Regards,

If you use the HP servers then the HA drivers are on the CD already.

If you use the IBM servers then you'll need to load the device drivers after
the OS is loaded.

You have to be careful too when doing OS upgrades to reinstall the driver
just to be safe ;)

Worked well for me though and I ran a couple of IBM x345's without problem
at all, at least no problem with the ethernet level ;)

Usual stuff, make sure spanning-tree is running on the two switches facing
the server as the driver uses it.

Darren

Note that cisco only supports the HP teaming drivers currently, and =

make sure to follow the instructions at =

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/voiceapp/ps378/ =

prod_installation_guide09186a0080203ebc.html to the letter (ie don't =

choose Load Balancing).

The IBM teaming drivers may work perfectly for you, but if you have any =

issues related to network connectivity disable them and see if the =

issue persists before engaging TAC.

Make sure that at no time your CM server has multiple IP addresses. =

This is bad, 100% not supported and guaranteed to cause issues.

If you have a HP server that supports teaming then it will always be =

better to have the redundancy, preferably with each NIC going to a =

different switch (obviously in the same vlan).
