I've just been given the job of creating a website for a local club. I'm
using FrontPage 2003. The server I'm uploading to only is run by my local
County Council , and requires FTP connections, but the specified destination
server name starts with http://www. I can successfully upload my site using
WS_FTP, using that server name, but when I try uploading via FrontPage (whic
h
would be a much neater solution) I get an error message. Any help would be
appreciated

Thanks very much. The link pointed to the valid information, but I had
already read most of this elsewhere. As I had suspected, I was on the right
track, and I was able to upload by choosing FTP, and then using
ftp://www.hostname.gov which seems rather strange to me. But it worked!

Not that strange, remember http: and ftp: are not part of the URL, but
are the protocol to use when accessing the URL..
