There appears to be two official Microsoft Biztalk adapters that work
with MSMQ.

The "BizTalk Message Queuing Adapter", also known as MSMQT.
This is referenced in article "About the BizTalk Message Queuing Adapter" at
:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/d...t_file_doxf.asp

MSMQT can be configured for side-by-side use with MSMQ if a second
IP address for a system is configured, as mentioned in the article
"Microsoft Support WebCast. BizTalk Message Queuing in Microsoft BizTalk
Server 2004":
http://support.microsoft.com/defaul...2Fwct030204.asp

"Microsoft BizTalk Adapter for MSMQ 2.0" is an adapter
described in the article:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...&displaylang=en

The article "Microsoft BizTalk Adapter for MSMQ is Now Available!" implies
that MSMQT and "Microsoft BizTalk Adapter for MSMQ"
are different.

Here is an excerpt:
The BizTalk 2004 Adapter for MSMQ provides support for sending and receiving
messages using MSMQ 2.0 and 3.0....
This is one that customers have been waiting for! The release of this adapte
r
removes barriers customers may have had in deploying BizTalk 2004 when the
ability to send and receive messages from MSMQ is a requirement.
Along with MSMQT, BizTalk now has a rich solution for MSMQ integration.

My requirements are:
1) standard (non-Biztalk) MSMQ and MSMQ Biztalk receive location co-exist
on the same system. This system run BizTalk Server 2004.
2) a second IP address is not needed for my system.

Does "Microsoft BizTalk Adapter for MSMQ 2.0" allow me to do this?

Yes - you want the MSMQ adapter in that case - not MSMQT
