Please find attached a patch which excludes log4j.properties as a resource f
rom any java:jar-resources goal.

I also added an instruction to the clean goal in maven.xml . Someone has ove
rriden it but forgotton to delete the target dir in doing so. The clean goal
 now deletes the target dir and its contents.
