    Deploy COM+ Partition/Package

I've setup a non-global COM+ partition on my staging server. I'm trying to
deploy the package using AP Center 2000 SP2. When I use the MMC to setup
the application, only the global partition is displayed. How can I deploy
the package in the other partition?

Thanks,

Sean

What do you mean non-global COM+ partition? We deploy COM+ applications.

Thank You

In Windows 2003 Server you can setup COM+ partitions for side-by-side
deployment of various versions of a component.

I setup a new partition. Now in Component Services MMC I see the following:

Component Services
Computers
My Computer
COM+ Partitons
Base Application Partition
NewPartition
COM+ Partition Users
DCOM Config
Distributed Transaction Coordinator
Running Processes

Before adding the partition it looked like this:

Component Services
Computers
My Computer
COM+ Applications
DCOM Config
Distributed Transaction Coordinator
Running Processes

All of the Packages that were in "COM+ Applications" are now in "Base
Application Partition" and they are the only applications that I can see in
App Center 2K to deploy. All the applications in "NewPartition" are not
listed.

Application Center will not recognize the other partitions.
SP 2 for Application Center was designed to support existing functionality
from Windows 2000 on Windows 2003 (with the exception of IIS 6), and
Windows 2000 did not have a concept of COM+ partitions, so Application
Center does not know what they are, and cannot recognize/replicate them.

Does this answer your question? Thank you for using Microsoft Newsgroups!
