Hello All,

Currently, I have a lot of postings that were created using some older
templates that we had created when we first started using CMS.  However,
over time we have created better, simpler templates for our authors/editors
to use.

I was wondering if there was a tool that could change the template path for
these older postings so they would use the newer templates.  Does anyone
know of any tools that can handle this?

I am fearing that I may need to "recreate" all these postings based on the
newer templates (this is the option I am trying to avoid).

We are currently using MCMS 2002 SP1 in Mixed mode.  The templates that need
to be changed are still in ASP format, not ASP.NET.

Hi Andrew,

there is no way to really change the template.
What can be done is to run a script that reads the content from the
placeholders and creates new postings with the same name based on the new
template and then deletes the old one.

Be aware that the creation time and last modified time will change. Also be
aware that the items have to be reapproved.
In addition the revision history will be gone using this method.

Thanks for the information.  Is there a script that already exists somewhere
that I could get a hold of, or am I going to have to write this myself?
