I am using the book "Linux for Non-Geeks" to learn about Linux. One of
the projects is to download and compile a mahjongg game. All went well
for me. However, it did not put the game in the menu system; you must run
it from the "run application" dialog box. What do I need to do to make
this game appear in the menu with the rest of the games?

Next question.

In windows there is a startup folder. Is there any comparable thing in
Linux? I would like to have gaim start up automatically.

I am running Fedora Core 1

O[vbcol=seagreen]

From a graphic desktop (Gnome or KDE) use a GUI file manager and
navigate and locate the file and copy to the desktop

[vbcol=seagreen]

Yes. It's a tab in one of the sub menu items.
