Hi.
I know this isn't a "wine" ng, but looks like there is nobody there.

Cool Edit 2000 is the only windows application i would like to put it
running on my Debian system but it hangs!
It hangs at a "reseting menus" stage during it's startup. When it hangs this
message appears on the konsole (and in the log file in /tmp) :

fixme:process:SetProcessWorkingSetSize (0xffffffff,8388608,16777216): stub -
harmless

I've put some applications working with wine just for testing, but the only
one i really need is the one that does not work

Is there a "trick", configuration needed to put Cool Edit 2000 working with
wine?
Can at least anybody help understanding the error message?

Any help will be appreciated.
Amarok

I have run into similar errors with just about every windows-based
software on wine. I have finally found a solution: Audacity (analog
sound editor/multi tracker/Mp3 encoder/VST) It is not like cool edit but
certainly does the job very well, no wine required.

It's funny that all the installers work fine, the problem is after that.

Everywhere I look, I see replacements for Cool Edit with Audacity, Sweep and
Rezound, I got these tree and more audio editors but none of them is up to
really replace Cool Edit... sometimes I need some filtres and efects that
only Cool Edit have, and the equalizers on Cool are must greater than all
the others... and them there is the spectral view, than only Audacity have
one that you can work directly on it, but his spectral view is very poor
and dificult to work with

If Cool Edit could work, I would not need windows anymore.
