I have recently managed to set up dav_fs on my apache2 installation, and
can connect to it using various clients. The problem is that when I
jump on the windows box [using web folders] the auth isn't working. I
researched it a bit and found that there are known issues with the
interoperability, being that IIS is needed for windows to mount the
share. This may be the wrong newsgroup for this, but has anyone found a
workaround on either end?

I had similar problems. If I remember correctly, auth will work okay on
the main page only. So it will work for www.mydomain.com, but not for
www.mydomain.com/mydirectory. I got around this by making a subdomain,
files.mydomain.com.
