I have FP 2003 and I am unable to publish through HTTP. I have informed my
Web server administrator and they have reset my FPSE several times. I am
still unable to publish. Is there some other problem that could cause the
extensions to be unavailable?

This is the message when I click on Details of the error message.

have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.
Please try the following: If you typed the page address in the Address bar,
make sure that it is spelled correctly. Open the thevoyeurinyou.com home
page, and then look for links to the information you want. Click the Back
button to try another link. Problem: Unknown Error -1.

How about giving us the detailed steps of how you are attempting to publish.

Tom, i have the same problem as Bill & many others according to the boards,
as i search for a solution. i'm using the remote publisher, following
protocol to a "t" and my hosting service DOES have FP se's. i've recently
sent their support team a screenshot of the problem.

Does ANYONE out there have an answer to this???

thanks ... kinda desperate.
kathy

Tom,

I go the way it tells me to:
Remote web site properties: choose Front Page server extensions. Type in
remote site with no 'www' because the hosts says not to. I then put in my
password. Then click on publish and it starts publishing. It varies on how
long it tries to publish but I eventually get the error box that says "Serve
r
could not complete your request...make sure server extension are installes.
When I open up the publish log it shows that some files uploaded but then is
says there was a gateway timeout.

My file manager does not have anything in the cgi-bin folder. Should there
be something there for my scripts?

Bill
I would use FTP to make sure that the site is empty and then turn on fpse
and try publishing again. I had this same problem and like a fluke it worked
after 24 hours but I still had other problems. I had to delete the site and
start over. You will probably notice that you cant navigate to it from my
network places as well.
