Greetings:
Am trying to config a 2801 as an H323 Gateway to cisco Call Manager. Anyone
done this?
Thanks.

Hi Greg,

I haven't specifically configured a 2801 as an H.323 GW with CCM but
don't anticipate any issues as CCM does not care about the specific
platform when using H.323. Are you having a specific issue?

Hi Kevin,

Well, it's currently config'd (and operating, of course) in CCM as an MGCP
gateway and they want it H323 so they can get CID. I'm probably making it
harder than necessary, but was hoping to still use the CCM dial-plan and
just define the FXO ports in the 2801 as h323 as necessary. The 2801 won't
register with the CCM - it's defined in CCM with the IP addr as the name . .

Thanks.

Hi Greg,

An H.323 GW won't register with CCM. If the IP Address is list as in
the example below then the GW and CCM have been communicating. But
the registration status will be unknown.

Product : H.323 Gateway
Gateway : 10.1.1.1
Device Protocol: H.225
Registration: Unknown
IP Address: 10.1.1.1 <<<<<

You will need to modify the current Route Patterns to point to the new
H.323 GW or Route List and configure the appropriate dial peers on the
GW.

Interesting - Your example is exactly what's currently displayed. The 2801
H323 status shows not-registered also.

The current designation for it in CCM as the MGCP GW is the URL -- CCM would
not allow using the same name for the H323 GW. Does what you say then mean
that I can use it in the current state and build a CCM Route to the GW IP
addr and make calls through the H323 ports with a dialpeer match?

Thanks. Have a good weekend.

Greg.
