Anyone know the hardware/software requriements for dual frame buffers?

I am trying to set up a dual head framebuffer, but the HOWTO seems to
assume that the second framebuffer is detected automagically.  On my
system - debian sarge - only the first framebuffer (/dev/fb0) appears.
Creating the second framebuffer (/dev/fb1 at 29/32) doesn't help.

My sencod card is a cheapo S3 Virge, which I'm guessing won't do
framebuffer at all....

So, what do I need?  dual Matrox G400?  G550?

Maybe you need to modprobe a framebuffer driver for your card.
