Hi,

I have retail2002 setu p on my server and everything is OK and works.
I need as you imagine my developers work from ther laptops against the web
site.

When opening the retail2002 site in VS 2002 from a client machine, severl
dlls are marked with a yellow triangle iside it a question marks
APPHELPERLib
CacheCompLib
CATALOGLib
...
...
..

and the following objects are underlined with broken blue line
Imports Microsoft.CommerceServer.Runtime.Profiles
Imports Microsoft.CommerceServer.Site.Components
Imports Microsoft.CommerceServer.Site.Accounts

How can I fix this on each developer's machine? thanks

You need to have a copy of Commerce Server installed on each developer
workstation. There is a document from Microsoft on setting up a
multi-developer environment for COmmerce Server (I couldn't locate this as o
f
this moment). This would eliminate the broken links to the assemblies in the
reference section.

The other error (local projects) will disappear after the first solution
build.

Before Commerce 2002 SP2, we can only build a development environment
on a server platform due to the Commerce runtime object isn't
supported to be installed on Windows XP.

Commerce Server 2002 Installation Guide

ll.mspx

Thanks for the response. I have already visited this url, I can not see a
section or a paraprahph regarding the issue or Comerce Server core objects o
n
client machines.
There is a section talking about setting "To install Administration Tools "
on client machines and Bdesk.

Thanks again for, your help.

What you need to install to build the development environment should
be:

Commerce Run-time Objects
Administration Tools
Online Documentation
SDK
Bizdesk Client

If it's a XP box, please pay attention on the following issue:

PRB: Cannot Install Commerce Server 2002 Developer Edition on Windows
XP
