I suppose this isn't a FlashComm question, but I'd like to know if
anyone here experiences the same thing. I have a multi-monitor setup
and like to spread Flash 8 across both screens (stage on the left,
actions/debug/output on the right). This was all good with Flash 7, but
in Flash 8, whenever I open it, all of my windows are on my left
monitor. I can see this getting annoying quickly. Does anyone else
have the problem of Flash 8 not remembering where the various windows
should be?

I have dual monitors too, but flash remembers where all my panels are. What
it doesn't remember each time I double click a file for the first time after
opening flash, is that I don't have the window going across both monitors,
only the left side and the right side has all my panels, and opens the
window to both monitors. If I resize it back down, there's no problem after
that.

Weird. Do you have Flash 7 and Flash 8 installed? Or just Flash
8...trying to weed out possibilities. =20

I had the same problem in v7 too. I use panel sets to work around it.

Yeah, panel sets worked fine in v7, but not so much in v8...

Flash 8 does not remember if I have a panel on the left monitor and
Flash on the right monitor. It's a bug.

I'd say it's a problem with display drivers and the IDE not playing
"well" with them as such (multiple adapters .. NOT a 2 or 3 output
single card).. I have had flashMX2004 on 5 monitors for a long time,
and, depending on the video adapter used and driver version used for
each card (win2000) ... I've seen it work and not work. As I have it now
I have to load a saved panel set when I first open the IDE -- as was
mentioned before. Seems it is a bug and that perhaps the MM engineers
only use a setup with multiple monitors that stem from a single
multi-output AGP card instead of the more typical AGP + many PCI cards
that I know so well.

My card is a simple dual head GeForce FX card. Nothing fancy. I'm also
running the nVidia reference drivers, so they shouldn't be a
problem...oh well. Oh, btw, what are you doing w/ 5 monitors!?!

Well I doubt the MM engineers play games on their pc's or are otherwise
testing with manufacturer drivers too much (that'd be A LOT of work)..
I'd recommend going back to the Microsoft default video driver (for the
nvidia) to see if it makes a difference at all. Would be nice if MM
could comment on this though.

I have a combination of Matrox, ATI, and older S3 cards.. 6 video
outputs total but I only use 5 for "work space" right now.. I can't use
flash on 1 or 2 monitors at all.. I personally HAVE to have everything
laid out.
