GG,
you can extend the "Windows" authentication further by enabling your site
for your IE uses .
If your working with an INTRANET this works great. Just go into
>Tools>Internet options> Local intranet > open the "Site..." button and then
the "Advanced" button and the url of your site.
This will effectivly pass your desktop uses authentication (that is if you
having them authenticate against AD) on to MSCMS.
Also make sure you have the MS HTML Editing Tools installed in your clients
IE browser - which allows them to edit CMS pages given they have the rights
to do so.
best.
Chris
P.S.
For shits and gigles and a small coolness factor you can add an ASP.net
lable to you pages and have it return the value for "authuser" ... it will
return the authenticated username and display it in a lable....you can go
further with some string manipulation and have it return the full first and
last name.
