The search tool may require that the sever extensions be
recalculated. This can be achieved from IIS on the server
(right click the site- tasks- recalculate...). I am not
sure, but I believe that the FrontPage search component
will not work on Windows Server 2003 for some reason, if
that's what you have. I had the same problem and gave up
by removing the search tool...
