Hi,

I have two users in my production system: ftpuser and dbdirect.
I need to figure out if these are default users generated by OS during
installation like root, daemon etc. or not.
Moreover, I need to study impact of removing these users from system
since we don't seem to use them directly.

Can anyone provide pointers/info on the same?

Regards,

Praveen

Neither of these users are system generated. If you added a third-party
or open-source FTP server, that might explain the ftpuser account.

This is quite a longshot but the only thing I can think of for dbdirect
is that there is a database administration outsourcing company in
Northern Kentucky, near Cincinnati, called DBADirect that use to used
that account for remote administration. Did this box ever host a
database server?
