Hi, I am evaluating Websphere 6.0. I have successfully deployed my own web-a
pp (war). Now I would like to update a single file of it, eg. the web.xml.
However when I do this I get the following error:
ADMA5065E: Exception in FileMergeTask java.lang.NullPointerException.
I am sure that my relative path is corect.
If I try this with the PlantsByWebsphere sample app, it works.
Can you help?
Thanks
Michael

What's the full path of the .war file you changed? Are you running ND?

I think you need to change the one under
profiles/AppServ01/config/cells/<cellname>/applications/<ear>/deployments/..
.

ND is Network Deployment, the multi-node edition of WebSphere. Which
will overwrite from the Deployment Manager any changes you make locally.

Would an experienced Websphere admin always update the file directly in the
file system rather than by using the admin console?
