Since you've reinstalled FF 1.0.7, there are two things to try. Close
FF. The first is to start the FF profile manager. I don't know what
it is in linux, but in windows you would start on Run, and enter:
firefox.exe -p
This would bring up the profile manager. Create a new profile. Start
FF with that profile. Does the problem remain?
If no, then your other profile has a problem in it. You can try the
next thing and see if that works. Or, you can transfer your bookmarks
file to the new one and start all over.
If yes, then go to the next thing.
Next Thing: Close FF. Then locate your profile and make a back up
copy of the file prefs.js and put it somewhere, just incase something
goes wrong you can put the back up file back.
Now, using a texted based editor, open the prefs.js file, the one in
your profile. Now, do a search for useragent and delete all entries.
There are a few of them. Save that file, and restart FF. Does the
problem still happen?
If FF doesn't restart or something strange happens, put the copied
prefs.js file back and try again.
