CM Admin problems on new machine? |
 |
 |
|
|
11-16-05 10:45 PM
Setting up a new pc for myself and running clean install of XP with the
built in SP2. Its a base install right now, simply XP with all the updates
from MS.
I open IE and go to my CCMAdmin page, login and go search for phones. I
select extension, contains and 12 and it says it returns 87 items but they
are never displayed.
I see an error sign (yellow exclamation) in the bottom left of IE, when you
open the error and read it it says:
Line: 264
Char: 3
Error: Object doesnt support this property or method
Code: 0
Is there something you have to do on a new system to get CCMAdmin working
correctly? Seems odd, but then again I never tried CCMAdmin from another PC
so who knows.

Some things to have a look at... I'm thinking it might be something to do
with the Java support.
Make sure you have Java installed on there.. Java support was pulled from
Windows starting with sp1a if I remember correctly.
Also, make sure you don't have pop up blockers or third party toolbars
installed.
I've seen trouble with the Yahoo toolbar specifically, but that might not be
the trouble you are seeing...
Anyhow, for what it's worth.

The error you mentioned is not a Java exception, but rather a scripting
error (JavaScript, VBScript, etc...). Although unrelated, I have noticed
that alot of my script error disappeard after installing the most recent
MSXML and .NET packages. I'd have to guess that the problems are caused by
incorrect DCOM registrations in the registry, but I am not really a
programmer, so I could be way off base.

It's the Java version. I see this on machines that don't have the right
Java version.
<rant> I wish cisco would make it a priority to get all the IPT apps up
to the same version, and maybe even a current version. I have to use as
least two different machines to do all I need to do <I'm finished>

Messagenow granted, i've heard good things about java, and with the little n
on-Cisco stuff i've worked with it was pretty good. unfortunately the majori
ty of my experience is with cisco and I find that they don't play nice with
each other. i think it has to do with the number of different departments wi
thin cisco that do the programming. of course, not sure how much water that
holds with the IPMA issue i had - i figured they would have talked to each o
ther. ;)

Java-ness? Active scripting allowed from the CCMADmin server?
XPSP2 probably is by default more 'secure' than otherwise... I've had a
lot more trouble with Java versions and various
switches/routers/firewalls/Ciscosoftware/CCM supporting the same (NOT)
versions of Java on SP2... it's been _really_ fun that none of Cisco's
'older' stuff supports the same version of Java that the new does...
Or that the new stuff is sufficiently backwards compatible to allow
older Java to work (since that's required for older switches < 12 months
old

Subject: [cisco-voip] CM Admin problems on new machine?
Setting up a new pc for myself and running clean install of XP with the
built in SP2. Its a base install right now, simply XP with all the
updates from MS.
I open IE and go to my CCMAdmin page, login and go search for phones. I
select extension, contains and 12 and it says it returns 87 items but
they are never displayed.
I see an error sign (yellow exclamation) in the bottom left of IE, when
you open the error and read it it says:
Line: 264
Char: 3
Error: Object doesnt support this property or method
Code: 0
Is there something you have to do on a new system to get CCMAdmin
working correctly? Seems odd, but then again I never tried CCMAdmin
from another PC so who knows.
