Hi Ed or anyone else at MM,

Is that the only bug fix in updater 3 the crashing problem posed by the
alpha player? Or are some of the other bugs fixed in this updater as well?

http://www.macromedia.com/support/f...s_updaters.html

Im just hoping someone left out the details on the other fixes, and its
not just that security fix that is in this update.

Thanks,

Mike Weck

after looking at the build numbers...

it was 1.5.2 build 138

this updater 3 made it
1.5.2 build 141

hopefully the difference of 3 has some fixes

Hmm, that's an interesting piece of info. I would be curious to know
what comprises builds at MM. If it is anything like our firm - then
probably not many changes - three builds might be barely enough for a
handful of fixes, sometimes just one. BenG.

There were a few fixes; nothing too major. And I'm too lazy to go dig
and find out exactly what they were Hope you'll forgive me :P

Macromedia, the release notes for patch 3 are missing. Release notes
have accompanied patches previously for flashcom, and other products
like jrun or cf. Should we not be expecting release notes? Thanks, BenG.

I assume there was no release notes because this was a security patch fix.
The point of this updater is to prevent possible DOS attack due to bug in an
 alpha build of FP8.5.

Hey listen pal. I don't know where the hell he mentions load-balancing
or even what the hell he was doing to crash FCS, but it's certainly not
in his original email. And forgive me, but I'm not about to go
searching thru the archives on a list that we are not even required to
monitor and only do so as a courtesy to our developers. I'll refrain
from using any obsenities since I don't want to represent Macromedia in
an unfit manner; but believe me, it's taking all my strength to resist.
But for you to write something like this, I think speaks volumes for
your character. =20

And if there is a bug report, I haven't seen one; which is not to say
that there isn't one. But if he had submitted one, please give me the
bug number and I'd be more than happy to look it up. But in case you
haven't noticed. We've had a lot more crap to deal with the past few
days then dealing pricks like you. Damn, I almost got thru that email.
Oh well.

Regards,
Ed
