Hi All,

Recently I installed vpnc on Ubuntu Hoary. There is a cisco 3000
contractor using IPsec/UDP at NYU, vpnc seemed to be the perfect choice.
I configured the vpnc.conf file as seen below:

Terminal
--------------------------
Interface name tun0
IPSec gateway vpn.host.domain
IPSec ID nyu-vpn
IPSec secret ******
Xauth username myusername
--------------------------

I execute vpnc-connect and voila! The prompt reads "VPNC started in
background (pid: 20017)...". However I cannot get a signal from any
pings... for instance if I ping www.google.com I get nothing. In
addition tun0 shows several errors.

Terminal
--------------------------
[hzs202@earth:/etc]> ifconfig tun0

tun0 Link encap:UNSPEC HWaddr
00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00
inet addr:192.168.192.6 P-t-P:192.168.192.6 Mask:255.255.255.255
UP POINTOPOINT RUNNING NOARP MULTICAST MTU:1412 Metric:1
RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
TX packets:0 errors:17 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
collisions:0 txqueuelen:10
RX bytes:0 (0.0 b) TX bytes:0 (0.0 b)
----------------------------

This is far as I know to investigate... is it possible that I may have
to add routes to the routing table? It seems that eth0 or eth1 don't
know that tun0 exists, what do I do about this?

Best,
