I just installed FMS2 on my linux box and I am trying to login to the
console from my windows box. Does anyone know what settings to use?

I installed FMS2 in the default opt/macromedia/ folder. I am tring the ip
address of the box in the server address field and the username and passwor=
d
I entered during setup but to no avail.

Thanks for your help!

Grab fms2_console.swf and fms2_console.htm located in

opt/macromedia/

from your linux box and you can run it locally from your windows box.

Frank,

I have gotten that far. My problem is that the opt/macromedia/ directory is
located on the root of the hard drive and not on the web root. I am enterin=
g
the IP address of the linux box in the Server address field in the FMS2
console, and the username and password I used on install. Unfortunately,
this does not yield any results.

What am I doing wrong?

Easiest way,

Download winscp, use it to grab the two files I mentioned and put it on
your windows box, in somewhere like c:\flash_admin\
point your browser to c:\flash_admin\fms2_console.htm

This will open up the admin console page.
then log into the server with the IP, login and password.

you can also just copy the two files into web docroot.

The files do not have to be in /opt/macromedia. for you to open it.

I understand that the files don't have to be in the opt/macromedia/
directory to open them. My problem is that once I've downloaded the files
using winscp I enter the IP, username and password and it doesn't login.

Frank,

I went ahead and did as you suggested by placing the console files in the
public_html/ directory of the webroot. Now I am able to user localhost
instead of an IP address and it works just fine. I am not sure why the IP
address wasn't working, but I got it working for me this way now.

Thanks!
-Aaron

Ah, even though I am accessing the fms console on the remote website, when =
I
use localhost it still connects to my local computer. I don't understand wh=
y
the IP address is not working...
