After uninstalling FrontPage/Office XP Pro on the operating system, XP Pro
and reinstalling Office, FrontPage freezes up when trying to open up a site.
The CPU is pegged at 100%.

What should I do now?, Do I need to I reinstall the Web Extinctions?

CB

How do I do that? I'm a designer not a network dude. The webs are hosted
elsewhere.

Have you tried the usual repairs in the sequence below:
1) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all FP Temp Files
Usually in C:\WINDOWS\Temp and
C:\Documents and Settings\<USER>\Local Settings\Temp
2) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all hidden *.web files
Usually in C:\Documents and Settings\<USER>\Application Data\Microsoft\Web S
erver Extensions\Cache
3) In Windows Explorer Find and delete the file hidden file CMDUI.PRF
Usually in C:\Documents and Settings\<USERNAME>\Application Data\Microsoft\F
rontPage\State
4) Run a Repair on IE
(see http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=318378 )
5) Install all Service Packs for your OS, IE, MS Office and your Video card
(Windows Update and Office Update sites, plus your video card supplier site)
6) Open FP and Disable or Uninstall any FP Addins,
7) Open your FP Web/Site and run a Tools Recalculate Hyperlinks

It's a folder named FrontPageTempDir

If you are running FP2003 it will be in your IE Temporary Internet Files Fol
der
C:\Documents and Settings\<USER>\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files

In prior versions it was in the user or system default Temp Folder
C:\WINDOWS\Temp or
C:\Documents and Settings\<USER>\Local Settings\Temp

In both of the above you can find C:\Documents and Settings\<USER> using %us
erprofile%

The file CMDUI.PRF does not exist, nor to any .WEB files. None of the steps
you outlined worked either. Is there any other suggestions you can make?

When reinstalling FP, are the web extensions replaced? Do I need to
reinstall ISS? where may I get that, on the XP Pro disk?
