Hi Marilyn,
Setting up and maintaining a FMS2 server isn't really difficult when using
for a single project (not configuring tens or hunderds of vhosts). Most
things are documented and FMS2 is designed to keep it simple with
maintanance. FCS1.5 to FMS2 is a great step with servermanagement. Stacking
licenses is easy, until you need an Edge/Origin solution which is a some
more harder to install and maintain. From that point you might need
assistance. Sometimes it is easier (and cheaper) to host your application
with a company that delivers FMS2-hosting, especially if it is short-term.

Marilyn,
I'm no sysadmin myself, and I've been using FlashComm since it was a
baby--on both Linux and MS servers. I've developed apps using all different
features of FCS and now FMS2, and once the server is set up, it's a piece of
cake. There's a bit more involved if you want to customize the vhost and a
few other tricks, but they're all in the docs. Also, you'll have to work in
multiple licenses, if you're going to be working with a lot of BW and CCs.
The most trouble I've had has been with clients who have had a service with
policies that wouldn't let me add certain features.
However, since I've only worked with one license and server at a time,
others on this list might have more wisdom on this subject for larger
systems with high BW and/or CC use.
