| Thomas,
| Thanks for your advice but in following it I've not been able to download
| the files.
|
| 1) I'll not be downloading to the same computer as the previous webmaster.
| 2) Not sure about the local IIS web server reference for this situation.
| 3) I have FrontPage 2002.
| For sites I have created/maintained in the past the files have resided in
a
| "My Webs" folder (and of couse sub-folders).
| For these sites I am able to do
| -- File/Open Web
| -- see "open web" dialog open
| -- enter "http://www.domainname.com" in field called "web name"
| -- click OPEN
| -- see "Connect to www.domainname.com" dialog open
| -- in dialog enter "User Name" and "password" fields.
|
| But when i attempt to do this for "http://www.newest_site.com"
| I get the following error message
| "The folder "http://www.newest_site.com" isn't accessible. The floler may
| be located in an unavailable location, protected with a password or the
| filename contains a / or \."
| this occurss after clicking "open" so the "Connect to ..." dialog hasn't
| even displayed to give me th opportunity to enter "username" and "password
".
|
| For this newst site I've not yet created a file folder.
|
| Hope this is clear.
