I have considerable experience reading and writing from a MSMQ using
Biztalk 2004 and the MSMQ adapter. Assuming Biztalk 2004 is running on a
Windows 2003 32 bit server and the MSMQ is defined on that server. Can I do
a MSMQ send to that queue from a client (non Biztalk) running on a 64 bit
platform (Windows 2003 x64) and read the queue element using the Biztalk
MSMQ adapter.

Can Biztalk 2004 run on 64 bit servers in 64 bit mode?

Please advise. Thanks for your help.

Best Regards,

Paul J. Lay

Hello Paul,

AFAIK you should be able to send from a 64-bit MSMQ to a 32-bit MSMQ.

2004 will not run on 64-bit - but I believe 2006 does (or at least if it
does run it doesn't gain anything - whereas 2006 will)
