Does anyone really understand how google video is working? I am
pretty certain there is not FMS behind them or Adobe would be sending
us press releases weekly. Progressive download with the streaming
benefits....
how how HOW??
<sob>
Oh, and I want there server farm to encode videos for me too. THanks.

Yeah, i was getting excited about that but hmm. I wonder if google is
using custom meta data for it?
strolls off to find out....
I was also disappointed that the guy from leaveitbehind.com/code has
been quiet for so long.

FWIW, I grabbed a random flv from google, and this was the metadata
bytelength = 9848814
framerate = 30.0000307850495
totaldatarate = 242.549322267134
audiodatarate = 64.3113476771141
videodatarate = 170.043166796477
height = 240
width = 320
totalduration = 324.833
starttime = 0.001
duration = 324.832

I was looking for another solution that doesn't require custom
metadata to be injected...the flashcomguru solution required the
insertion of keyframes.

I might be on to something.
I've managed to create a pure php page that silks 2 flv's or more together,
like a playlist. (created during my "hobby time" for Stefan Ritcher.)
Technically there are still bugs in it. I'm not treating the metadata so
typical players would most probably screw up. But the interesting thing is
that I'm actually running threw the file flv tag per tag and simply
re-writing them, but with a new timestamp.
The ideas would be. If you want another solution for seeking that involves
no extra meta-data injection, you'll be probably asking more work from the
server.....(it's a decision to take). So, technically the server could read
the file, till it finds the right timestamp and start spitting from there.
(including the header).
Want such a thing? :P
Sincerely
Fredz./
